Meet Leticia Ledezma
Program Staff
Leticia Ledezma was born in Salt Lake City to parents who were in the party lifestyle, she idolized her older brother who was involved in gangs and drug dealing. Her life shortly spiraled out of control due to her circle of influence and her addiction to heroin. She had two children that the state took away due to her lifestyle. Leticia was in and out of jail for most of her adult life. The last time she was in jail she had the opportunity of a lifetime, heard a presentation from The Other Side Academy, wrote a letter, and was accepted.
Her new life began in March of 2018. She had no idea what her new way of life would look like, but she knew enough to not go back to the streets and her old lifestyle. She eventually started gaining self-worth by holding boundaries, being impeccably honest, but most importantly making it about others. Leticia quickly became dependable and reliable among the group of women she mentored. She started seeing changes and quickly knew that this place was her new home. The future was bright for her. She made the commitment to stay and was hired as a program staff in August of 2021. She strives every day to help women become the best versions of themselves.
